Spring Cleaning: Make up Declutter

Right now in my self-imposed quarantine I have decided to declutter my makeup. I didn’t realize how much I needed to do it until I looked at all my cosmetics and saw that I still have some make up that I bought years ago.

I started on Lip products, I kept most of my scrubs and balms as they are not old and I still use them almost everyday. Next was glosses, First I swatched each product and ruled out the colors I felt don’t suit me. Next, I looked at consistency and formula of the glosses. Any glosses that bled or was too sticky I tossed. Next was lipsticks which I did the exact same thing for.

Next I moved on to eyeliners. I swatched all the liners. Tossed the liquids and gels that were dried. I then looked at the formulas, if it was smooth and easy to applied I kept the rest I tossed.

Mascaras were next. I tossed the ones I know I never used, also any that were old. Next I used a couple to make sure there was no flaking and it provided what it said it would provide.

Lastly it was eyeshadows. Mostly I was worried about the age of the eyeshadows, as I tend to hoard shadows for years, so if I can remember buying the eyeshadow recently I kept it. Also, I make sure to look at the shades and I swatched the ones I was unsure about.

By the time I was done my arms were completely filled with random make up swatches and took so long to clean. I still need to declutter my foundations which I will be doing today!
