Is it worth it? oVertone color

Let’s cut to the chase… to me, no, but don’t leave yet i’ll tell you why. First, let me tell you a little story about a women who saved up her hard earned money and went to her hairdresser. Long story short, she no longer will visit that hair dresser because they had a bit of a disagreement, see the women wanted an ash colored balayage with pink/purple undertones. Her hairdresser assured her that she could do it and in 1 session. The women felt it was too good to be true, and hey what do you know. IT WAS. She ended up with circa 2002 Kelly Clarkson chunky highlights. So now, the women has hideous hair and no hairdresser.

Just when the women was thinking she should go the Moira Schitt route and just start wear outlandish wigs, she saw an overtone advertisement and thought of a cool way to fix the mess that was her hair. All she had to do now was save up the $47 (plus shipping) to buy the complete hair kit and save her money. Deciding on pastel pink, I made my purchase and waited. And waited. And Waited. Guys I felt like this took forever to get to me. Maybe I was just too eager, but they took a couple of days to ship and it took 2 weeks to get to me from that point. Maybe it wasn’t a long time, I don’t know you tell me.

I opened this puppy up, read the directions, and started using it within 10 mins of getting it, I was just so excited. The directions were simple, apply this to your hair, wait 10-15 mins and rinse. So I did!

So as you can see, it looks…wait…oh whats that, the color didn’t stick to the bleached hair? What do you mean? I followed the directions, I used the product the way they told me to! I had the endure the overly powerful mint smell that made my nostrils flare and drip. I won’t lie some of the strands are pink, others are sort of (but not quite pink) and a majority of them are still the same gross bleached yellow that I didn’t want. Now my hair smells like I soaked it in mouthwash, but hey I won’t lie it feels great, but I feel like I just spent $47 on an overpriced hair mask.

Maybe I shouldn’t be too upset, maybe pastel pink just wasn’t the color I should have gotten, maybe I should have gone for the Rose Gold (it was what I wanted but unfortunately it was out of stock). I don’t know, have you tried oVertone? What did you think?
