The other day I went to the dollar store and found some great beauty finds! L.A Color is a brand I’ve always liked and it is affordable too!
I got three of their Color Craze polishes. This one is a metallic purple called Cyber Grape. I noticed quite quickly that it’s very thin so you need to apply a couple of coats to get it opaque. You will also need a top and bottom coat, I forgot to apply a top coat and it chipped pretty quickly.
I was looking for a nail polish that was appropriate for fall but still reminded me of the sunshine of summer. I think I found the perfect shade in JulieGGolden Sunset. This is actually from the brand Jesse’s Girl which they recently started stocking at my nearest Rite Aid.
While I thought the color would have a more gold bronze tone to it, on my nail it actually reminded me of Rose Gold, which is not a bad thing at all. The polish is a little thin but I found if I layered it too much it chips a little too easy.
I think I would like to layer this over another color, a brown or even a orange it could go well.
Since it’s getting closer to Christmas I wanted to wear red nail polish. I only really have 2 red polishes something that I need to rectify and soon. I picked the Aurora Gel Effect in Flaming Red because I want to see if it was really close to Gel. It’s an orangey red that stands out. It doesn’t require a UV light which is great. The polish is thinner than I thought it would be. I was hoping that the polish would only require one coat, but you need at least 2 to thoroughly coat your nails. It was a bit streaky, probably because of the thinness of it. It did, however, last a long time and didn’t start to chip until the 5th day of wear. While it isn’t as good as having gel done in the salon, it is a close second. I’ll definitely check out the different colors, but Vampire Red has really caught my eye. Plus at $7 it’s not a break the bank situation.
I’ve started painting my nails again. For a long time, I was in a motivation slump, not wanting to pluck my eyebrows, didn’t want to bother with painting my nails, and my hair constantly in a ponytail. Now though I am trying to gain that motivation back. First thing first paint my nails a gorgeous color. I picked ‘Thigh Highs” from Ciate because I needed something that will last until my next nail painting day. These days are usually on the weekend. While the polish didn’t last a full week, it chipped a day before, it lasted longer than I thought it would The color is a shiny deep blue that I felt looked great for fall. The application was smooth and one swipe was enough.
As I mentioned in this post HERE, while waiting for a prescription to be filled I decided to peruse the Make up aisle.
Recently I made a decision to be more conscious about Vegan and Cruelty free products. To my utter disappointment the only brand I was able to find that was Cruelty Free was Wet N’ Wild. Come on people it’s the year 2017 can be stop testing products on animals please!?
Anyway I do love Wet N Wild and I have featured some of their products on my blog before, plus they were having a buy 2 for $5 deal which was pretty awesome.

I cannot wait to use all the products and let you all know how they work. I’m especially excited for the gel lip balms!
