One of the (only) things I have in common with my dad is my love for music. It was one of the only ways I could really bond with him, and even now at 31 years old it is one of the things I can talk to him about. Below is the list of bands that no matter what decade, or how old I am I can always listen to.
John, Paul, George, and Ringo are the core 4 and the first band crush I ever had. Their songs evoke every emotion I have and no matter what mood I am in The Beatles will always have a song for it.
This hip shaker would always have a special place in my heart. His music is fun and ageless. A Little Less Conversation was one of the first songs I remember singing with my dad, so maybe I may have a bit bias to it and him.
I don’t know what it is about Coldplay that makes me just absolutely love them, but I do. Every song just reaches my soul and makes me feel something. Plus, Chris Martin smiling just makes my day.
Growing up in California by beachside in the 90s, of course, I listened to Sublime. So naturally now, living in Idaho I can’t change any song that comes on by them as nostalgia hits and I do get a tiny bit of longing towards the coast.
Yes, I can be a bit of a metal head and I even went and watched them live. One of the best concerts I have gone to hands down. The music is amazing as well as the lyrics to all of their songs. Also the voice of Bruce Dickinson just may be my absolute favorite.
Another band whose concerts I make sure to go. The love for the band is one of the first times I actually felt a connection with my husband, so much so that we used one of their songs for our first dance.
As a music lover I have a playlist for every occasion, so on those days where I let the gloom get the best of me I have a playlist I can put on that makes me happy. Some are for nostalgia and some are upbeat, of course all these songs are personal preference. So if you agree great! if not tell me the songs you like. FYI this is not the full list, just 5 songs from the list.
All Star – Smash Mouth
Odds Are – Bare Naked Ladies
Good to be Alive (Hallelujah) – Andy Grammer
Buddy Holly – Weezer
Have it all – Jason Mraz
If you don’t have a happy playlist, I suggest you get on your way to making one. For me personally it really lifts my mood.
I love music, I play it when I am working out, when I am working or even cleaning the house. Usually I always have a song playing or at least stuck in my head. My top 10 is always revolving, it is usually a mixture of new songs and older songs I am obsessed with.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a music post and I think it’s due time I post one. Music has always been a love of mine, I may love it more than my husband but I mean it is it really in the same category? Oh well, forget I said anything.
Anyway here is my top ten songs I am currently in love with.
River – Eminem; Ed Sheeran
I Fall Apart – Post Malone
Homemade Dynamite – Lorde; Khalid; Post Malone; SZA
My God has a Telephone – The Flying Stars of Brooklyn, NY
What driving 13 hours straight through to Idaho has taught me is that your roadtrip music is Really, Really important. The wrong song and that weariness of driving will get to you. Plus the roads were a bit too icy that I could not afford to start drifting off.
1. Loser- Beck
2. Chop Suey- System of a down
3. Send my Love – Adele
4. Wannabe – Spice Girls
5. Bootylicious – Destiny’s Child
6. Soulja Boy – Soulja boy
7. Pony – Genuwine
8. My Boo – Ghost Town Djs
9. Forgot about Dre – Dr. Dre, Eminem
10. Roadtrippin’ Red Hot Chili Peppers
Do you agree with my list? what would you change if you could?
