Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit

I got the Tarteist Lip Paint as my Sephora Birthday Gift, along with a tarte blush as well. I’ve used it a couple of times and I really like it. It has a bit of a peppermint smell and feel that really reminds me of Christmas despite the color not really matching. Tarteist Creamy Lip paint is a vegan full coverage lipstick that stays creamy throughout the day despite creating a matte look. Most matte lipsticks I’ve used dry my lips out to the point that you can see every wrinkle and imperfection, which really is not a flattering look. I didn’t have a problem with this lip paint as it stayed pretty creamy.

I was surprised at how easy it spread across my lips, despite the applicator feeling a bit flimsy ( I thought it was going to fall off if I applied too much pressure). The staying power was nice I only had to reapply after eating so that was great. It does transfer a bit so be careful against clothing and whatnot.

The color is a nice pinkish nude, that is great for any occasion. While it is a bit expensive ($20 per lipstick) I think it is worth the price and I am thinking about getting more colors like ‘So Fetch’ or ‘Lovespell’.

How you used Tareist Creamy Lip Paint? What did you think?

Story Book Cosmetics Quill and Ink Set Review

2017-10-27 12.22.08

I am in love with Story Book Cosmetics designs. It’s everything I ever wanted a beauty product to look like. However what we need to know is that yeah It looks pretty but does it work well? So I got this recently on a sale from their website. I also got free shipping because I bought a couple of things. I know I am technically on a buying ban with the whole house thing but I really needed this!

Before we get to the nitty gritty of this review lets just admire the look of this yea?

2017-10-27 12.21.53

First of all it comes in this gorgeous tin as a set and I had to stand and just admire the look when I first opened it.

This brush is gorgeous and extremely soft bristled. It reminded me more of a lip brush than a line brush though.  I love that it comes with a base, but I got to make sure that I clean it before putting it away because I don’t want any gunk getting in to the base as it so tiny I think it will be hard to clean.

2017-10-27 12.23.04

While I love the look of the ink pot I have to say I was extremely disappointed at the size. This thing is tiny! A lot of people have complained about the lid not staying on, so far I have yet to have any problems with that. I do know that they revamped the top to make it a proper twist top and while not as pretty it apparently works well. Right now the only color they have is black but they are working on different colors and the next model will be able to be refillable. Anyone who purchased the old pot (this one) will get a discount on the refill purchase.

2017-10-27 12.26.06

The big question though is how well does it work? My answer, not very well. The brush is way too soft that it cannot be used with the ink pot at all. Plus the formula for this is very dry so it makes it hard to spread on the lids. I had to go over that line a couple of times (with one of my sturdier brushes) for it to even make that line. Do I regret buying it? Absolutely not! I will say though that until they improve the formula this is no where near ready to replace any of my other liners.

Cruelty Free Wet N Wild Make Up Haul

As I mentioned in this post HERE, while waiting for a prescription to be filled I decided to peruse the Make up aisle.

Recently I made a decision to be more conscious about Vegan and Cruelty free products. To my utter disappointment the only brand I was able to find that was Cruelty Free was Wet N’ Wild. Come on people it’s the year 2017 can be stop testing products on animals please!?

Anyway I do love Wet N Wild and I have featured some of their products on my blog before, plus they were having a buy 2 for $5 deal which was pretty awesome.

The Haul

2 Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balm in Tease and Love
MegaSlim Skinny Mascara in Black
The Saving Base Nail Polish
Hard As Ice Top Coat
Large Eyeshadow Brush
Foundation Brush
Flat Top Brush

I cannot wait to use all the products and let you all know how they work. I’m especially excited for the gel lip balms!

March Play! by Sephora unboxing

I was finally able to sign up for Play! by Sephora and I am so excited. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten a beauty subscription, mostly due to limited funds, but am I slowly working back up again.

What’s in the box!?

This month’s theme is Get in the Glow, which focuses on finding a natural shimmer and glow to your normally dull complexion. Considering we are starting to transition from winter to spring I really like the theme to this box. I really love the small poster they include in the box that explains what products you got, why they included it, and how to apply it. It’s very easy to read, I don’t have to get my glasses or squint to read it.

I really love the bag that’s included with the box, but I have always had a thing for bags in beauty boxes.

Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer. This is suppose to help your complexion while giving you skin a bit of shine to take the dullness away. I really like the idea of this and hopes it works well. I’ve never used Glamglow before but I’ve seen them everywhere and I’ve been wanting to try one of their products for a while. Excited I get to finally try one of their products.

Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s up! Cream-to-Powder highlighter I’ve used this before as I got it a long time ago in a Birchbox box. I ended up losing it and I was so sad since I used it almost everytime I wore make up. I love this stuff so the fact that I got another sample of it is great!

Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm while it reads that you can use it as a primer or for a ‘finishing touch’ I think I want to use it as a finisher. I’ve never used anything like that before so I am super excited to try it out and see how it works. Apparently it’s a cream that you can tap onto your face with your fingers or a sponge. Kinda weird but I dig it.

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow stick in Golden Pink While pink is in the color name it looks more gold than anything. I didn’t do a swatch of it because I want to try it out and see how it looks at a later time and maybe review it. While I’ve used a couple of Bobbi Brown products before I’ve never used a shadow so I am super interested in it.

Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast I am constantly having flat hair problems. If I curl my hair it falls flat in about an hour, if I brush my hair it goes limper than a naked man in the arctic, it’s not fair. I am so glad that Sephora included this in their box, the one thing I am worried about however is the that the product is oil-based so I hope it does not turn my hair in a oily mess.

Chloe Fleur de Parfum honestly I am not so happy about this product, but that does not mean I won’t try it out. I tend to have allergy problems to floral scented perfumes and this is supposed to be floral but it also has top notes of Lemon essence so I am hoping it’s not too overbearing

Overall I am happy with this months box. What do you think of the products in Play! by Sephora march box? Have you used any of them?

The Original Make Up Eraser Review

First impressions:

  • Very Soft
  • Like that it is black
  • Detailed instructions of washing

What it says it would do

  • Clean all waterproof make up
  • Will last 1000 washes

What It’s made of:

  • Handcrafted polyester

Purchasing this on a whim, I never thought that having anything polyester was a good thing, but this has changed my mind. Sometimes I’m just way too tired to get out my make up remover, a cotton swab and scrub the make up off my face and also wash my face afterwards. With the cloth just run it over warm water and it clears away WATERPROOF make up. It’s also washable so it saves me so much money!

I really do recommend this cloth to everyone, plus it so soft. Like ridiculously soft. I wish I had a blanket of this cloth! It’s great for sensitive skin too, so long as you are not allergic to polyester you

Make Up Cuts III

2016-09-29-14-50-48

So Another cut, another post. In case you don’t know what I am talking about check out my first Make up cut and Second make up cut

I am currently trying to get rid of the make up that I don’t use as a way to declutter myself. I really recommend it as it somewhat lightens you up and also helps rediscover some favorites.

Luxe Eyeshadow

I have so many palettes and eyeshadows that this one did not catch my attention, I have never even opened it. I’m going to give it to someone who has need of it.

2016-09-29-14-51-50

Physician’s Formula Khol Eyeliner.

I received this in a trio pack and at first it went on smooth, and I thought I could love it, however at the end of the day it smeared so much on my eyes that I looked like a freaking raccoon.

2016-09-29-14-51-30

Marc Jacobs Lipstick

There’s actually nothing wrong with this lipstick, It’s actually just going because I have multiples. I would keep it if I was 100% in love but I am just very neutral about it, so out it goes.

Rimmel London Glam’eyes Mascara

This is a very meh mascara, it’s not awful, but it isn’t the best (In My Opinion). I have a ton of other mascaras that work for me, however this does add decent length if that is what you are looking for.

Have you tried any of these products? How do you feel about it?

Makeup cuts I

Make up cuts

I’ve been trying to get rid of stuff I don’t use in hopes of making things less cluttered. I’ve done some of my clothes, now it’s onto my make up. I feel like I have tons of make up and its only seems to be getting worse. So I bring to you the make up that didn’t make the cut.

Doll 10 hydraGel Cream Blush in FLIRT

This stuff actually isn’t so bad however I am very picky with blushes and this one is just too red for me. I do a lot better with coral blushes as opposed to pinks and reds. So this has nothing to do with how well the product works more like the color just doesn’t suite me.

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Poppy Paradise

This is another blush that is just way too red for me, I feel like I look like a clown, which sucks since I really like Josie Maran Products

LAQA & Co.Cheeky Lip in Cray-Cray

This is more of a lip color and it just didn’t go with my skin tone. The product itself went on really well but the color just didn’t do.

Wet N Wild Megalast Liquid Lip color in Click on my Hyper Pink

This product is just a mess. The Color was horrendous, it felt sticky and thick on my lips. It also was extremely hard to remove to the point I pretty much scrubbed my lips rawr! This is just a HELL NO!

These are just the first round of Make up cuts, I’ll probably do another round soon.

Sephora Birthday Haul

Sephora Haul

So after my trip, I had a whole day I requested off from work just for myself and I had a gift card from Sephora. So I channeled my inner Tom Haverford and Donna Meagle and decided to Treat myself.

Walking into Sephora I didn’t really have a product that I needed in mind, so while I perused the store (and being asked a hundred times if I needed help, I must have looked lost) I came across my first Item.

Fresh Lip treatment

I’m having a huge problem with Dried lips lately and it seems like nothing is working, so a friend recommended this. I immediately snatched this up. The next product I debated a bit over

2016-04-04 16.55.18

I have so many Palettes right now! however a girl could never have enough right? Definitely going to review and show off a couple of swatches for this treat! After I picked this up I remembered I needed a new lash curler.

sephora lash curler

This is a bit on the pricey side to be honest but I trust sephora not to cut my lashes off.

The Make up eraser was a must try! I’ve heard so many things I had to pick it up when I saw it while standing in line.

2016-04-04 16.55.13

Last but not least was my Birthday pick, I’ve never tried any of Marc Jacobs Make up so I picked this baby up!

I know I spent more than was on my gift card, but it was my birthday, It’s my responsibility to make myself happy and as long as I am not hurting anyone right?

ELF Precision Liquid Eyeliner Review

ELF precision Liquid Liner

Hey kittens!

So I’ve recently been wanting to try out more liquid liners, but with my current money situation (or lack there of ) I haven’t had a chance to purchase any new liners. Thank you ELF and their affordable cosmetics.

I’ve recently obtained their Precision Liquid Eyeliner in black and to be honest I’ve had my doubts. While I absolutely adore most of their products I have not had any luck with any of their liners. I’m not sure if it’s because my lids are oily or their formula is wonky, but most of their liners smear, crack or run and by the end of the day I look a mess. Read more
