Up A Nelms Tree

I’ve always had trouble with flat hair, but I’ve never really done anything about it. Now I am starting to be more adventurous. I’m 30 I can’t be afraid to take risks. When I saw this at my local drugstore I decided to try it out and I have not been lead astray by Not Your Mother’s products before. Sadly this didn’t really do anything, besides it smelling good and being easy to blend into my hair it still fell flat. I tried it while my hair was dry and damp and it was still the same results either way. I keep using it though, I guess I’m hoping that it will some how mysteriously work?

I am so disappointed, you were suppose to be my go to hair products!!!

Okay maybe I’m being a little harsh, and it was not really that expensive so I am not too hung up about it. I just want my hair to have some volume and doesn’t look like I’ve been wearing a beanie all day.

It’s been so rainy here lately, yet also surprisingly sunny. Weather is weird, maybe it’s the whole spring thing in a new state that actually has seasons! Anyway I just got my Sephora play box and this month’s theme is STEP IT UP! Which is what I actually have been trying to do lately!

Just like always the box comes with a a cute little bag. I really like this bag and the fact that it says ‘The Best Things in Life are Me!’, very motivational.

I’ve surprisingly have been running out of moisturizer lately so I got this Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream. Can I just ask what is all these super long names for products lately? I’ve never used this brand before so I am excited to use this.

While I need moisturizer, I really don’t need facial cleansers. I’ve actually never have used Philosophy before, mostly because it is a bit out of my price range. This Made Simple Face Cleanser is suppose to be good and gentle for sensitive skin.

I have like five of these little Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer from Smashbox. Please stop sending them to me, I cannot use them fast enough. I DONT NEED ANY MORE.

Make Up Forever is one of my most favorite brands so I am happy to have gotten this Aqua XIL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner. I am definitely going to use this on my waterline on those dramatic days.

Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is something that I am not sure that I would be using considering that I got that make up remover cloth. Plus this seems like it has oil in it.

I’m actually pretty excited to smell this as I have never used a miu miu product before. L’Eau Bleue is suppose to have hints of Lily of the valley and honeysuckle.

Overall I really liked this month’s box and bag. What do you think?

I am still fighting a battle with dry lips. It seems as if no matter what I do I constantly feel like my lips are dry and peeling, which when you wear lipstick it seems to highlight these flaws. When I saw the Wet N’ Wild Perfect Pout Lip Balm I hoped I can heal my dry lips while sporting a bit of spring color. These are a Gel Lip Balm which I’ve never tried before. They glide on smoothly and are way more pigmented than I thought they would be.  The Vitamin E and Avocado Oil help with the much needed moisture for my lips.

I got these gorgeous shades on sale for $5 for both of these beauties. Tease is a pretty pale pink that thankfully does not wash out my lips, but it’s perfect for that everyday look that you just want that small pop of color. Love is a bit of a darker shade that’s great for going out on a night on the town. The one thing I wished these two balms had were lasting power. If I’m drinking coffee or eating I must immediately reapply as this wipes off super easy.

If your on a budget and need something moisturizing with a pop of color these two are your girls!

I normally get Sundays off and it’s my errand day. I do housework, laundry, school work and whatever else needs to get done, however because it was Easter I decided to really relax and pamper myself. Lately when I decide to pamper myself it’s always with a relaxing bath and lighting a candle and spending the time reading. Of course I can’t just take any regular old bath, I need something that smells nice, that turns the water a cool color. It needs to distract from the fact that I am technically relaxing in my own filth.

Okay I am not too filthy, but still if I sit and think about it…

Anyway Easter to me is bright colors, Chocolate eggs and bright green grass. The Fizzbanger Bath bomb is a bright yellow ball, that reminds of baby chicks and Eggs. It turned the water a deep green that reminded me of grass and made me feel like a mermaid.

What I completely forgot about the Fizzbanger was the loud poprock like noises it makes that confused me (and made me suspicious) at first but once I saw the little bang in the water I remembered. My skin felt so soft and smooth and I just relaxed in the bath until it turned lukewarm and I knew I had to get out. While I was supposed to get the scent of cinnamon apples, I didn’t really get that which was a little bit of a bummer.

If you want a moisturizing, excited bath I do suggest the Fizzbanger Bath bomb however light a candle for fragrance because this one is too soft, I didn’t smell it.

I’ve been looking for a mascara for the minimal make up days when all I want is a small pop of lash and a tinted lip balm, no flash or glitz. That’s why I picked up the Wet n’ Wild megaslim skinny mascara and it delivered on what I wanted. The small plastic wand is small enough to get the small stray lashes that try to evade the bigger brushes, but it is not too small where it doesn’t give enough coverage.

I will say that you will need more that two swipes to get full coverage, but the build up is easy and the formula does not make my eye feel gunky or sticky like some mascaras do. The skinny mascara give me natural looking lashes while subtly giving a bit of oomph! The removal is easy too, I didn’t have to pull on my lashes, and it didn’t give me huge raccoon eyes when I was washing my face.

You do have to remember this mascara is for a natural look with some definition, if you want full Hollywood glamour you should look else where.

Happy Bunny Day!

So, I think I may be addicted to candles and amazing scents! I got these two beauties from Ross recently when I went looking for some cheap work clothes. After smelling what they had in stock I settled on Pink Pear and Easter eggs (which is the one burning in the background while I am writing this). Pink pear is suppose to have a bunny on top of it but due to the girl improperly wrapping it and my careless handling the ears broke off.

Since my time is limited, it means I have limited time to relax. With candles I can create a relaxing atmosphere even if I am in the middle of doing something, like blogging.

More bubbles, courtesy of lush and this time it’s so much fun. I once again was about to break this little beauty in half and get two uses out of it, which is suck a plus in my book. this was a fun one, not only did I have a bath tub full of bubbles but the bath water turned a fun red color as well. If I wasn’t thirty years old I’d have brought some toys and added to the fun. (also I own action figures not toys, there’s a difference).

Considering that the featured ingredient was peppermint oil, the bath lack a bit of the smell but honestly, I didn’t really mind. This bath totally destressed me, not only was it fun, but deeply relaxing and left my skin feeling so smooth. I only wish I had a bottle of champagne to drink out of while taking it. ( I love champagne)

SO let your inner fun out and totally make time for a bubble bath.

Treat yo’ Self

Sorry I’m rewatching parks and recreation and I just got to that episode. Plus I may have indulged in a bit (or a bottle) of that champagne I forementioned before.

13. 04. 2017

Can you believe that I have never ever owned a Yankee Candle? Well I have remedied that!

I’ve been in a real candle mood, I’m not sure if it’s because it relaxes me to light up a candle and start reading. I have also been in a very big citrusy mood so the Mango Salsa and the Pineapple Cilantro. but keeping to the tropical theme I picked up coconut beach. The red raspberry was too good to leave behind and I’ll confessed that I picked up the Midsummer’s night just for the name alone. I’ll definitely will be having a nice smelling house for a while.

So as you all know recently I went to Sephora for some birthday shopping for myself and as Sephora does they give you a Birthday gift when you are a beauty insider. The Birthday gift was 2 Tarte products; Amazonian clay 12- hour blush in paaarty and Tarteist creamy matte lip paint in birthday suit.

The blush is a pretty pink nude, which is perfect for me as any blush that is too pink or red makes me feel like a clown. It’s pigmented pretty well and seems to go on smooth. I will definitely use it.

This lip paint is creamy, however I am not sure I love the color. While it matches the blush on my lips it may wash me out. Also I am a bit worried about the staying power of the lip paint.

I am happy that I was able to pick this as it gives me a chance to try both products

So I know this isn’t very good thing to do, you have to love yourself, think highly of yourself and if there’s something you don’t like you change it…Blah, Blah, Blah…

I think this is fun and so very true. There are things I don’t like about myself, would I change these things? No, Absolutely not. Why? because despite not liking them, it’s what has made me, me. I am not intentionally hurting anyone, and in order to love yourself, you must embrace yourself flaws and all.

So with that in mind here are The 10 Things I hate about ME

1. My lack of brain to mouth filter
I seriously lack a filter, when I get excited, mad or really any sort of emotion. I loose track of things I say and since my thought process seems to go from 0 to 60 in half a second I try to say everything I’m thinking. This includes random thoughts, TMI, curse words and pretty much everything. I tend to blurt out whatever I’m thinking and end up with a foot in my mouth. This is not the most pleasant feeling.

2. My extreme need for coffee
If it’s available I will drink it, not matter the time. If I see a coffee shop (doesn’t matter which one) I will immediately need to have it. It’s some weird addiction that is a bit hard to control. Does this mean I give into the urges? Absolutely not, I do have some willpower ya know.

3. I need to sing a long if I know the song
My husband hates this, but since I’ve been with him for over a decade I can see how this would bother someone. Most of the time I don’t know I’m doing it, I just start to. Plus I can hear a song once or twice and learn the lyrics. Song lyrics are just easy to memorize, I’m probably pushing something important out but whatevs.

4. I procrastinate
I will leave something to the absolute last minute of I can, and I hate that I do this. Out of everything in this list, this is the one thing that I actually want to change. Due to my procrastination I put myself under unnecessary stress and well as well all know that is not good for you.

5. I’m suspicious
I’m suspicious about everything, If your nice, mean, or just walking by I will be suspicious about you. I think everyone has some sort of ulterior motive that I need to figure out. ‘Your smiling at me, what the hell are you planning person’   is pretty much my thought on a daily basis.

6. I don’t like shorts
So I don’ even know why, but I refuse to wear shorts in public. It has nothing to do with showing my legs, since I love skirts and dresses, but shorts are a absolute ‘Nope’ in public. I wear them around the house if I don’t have anything else to lounge around in, or if it’s just hot and I don’t wanna be around in my underwear. I just don’t do shorts.

7. Horrible pronunciation
So when I speak, I tend to mispronounce words, maybe because like I’ve said before I think pretty quickly and I need to get the words out before I get to the next thought and loose track. My husband loves pointing it out, he’s like the damn speech police.

8. I talk with random accents
So not only do I mispronounce words, but apparently random accents make their way into my talking as well. Once again my husband the speech police has pointed this out on many occasions. Why I do this, I do not know. I have a Californian accent and honestly if I tried to actually do a accent I fail miserably.

9. I have the urge to buy things on sale

my pocket book hates me, whenever I see something on sale I have the urge to buy it. While some of these sales are really great, some not so much. My mind sees a sale sign and I need to look and I’ll most likely buy something. It’s oh so bad.

10. I want to do too much at one time
I always have ideas, thoughts, urges and hobbies that I want to do or try. This leads to me putting too much on my plate at once and I get stuck with so much to do that I stress myself out and get sick. I like to keep busy but I need to learn how to find a balance so I’m not driving myself down.
