Favorite T.V. Couples

I decided to try a different post today than I usually do. I think lists are fun and favorite lists are even funner (yes, I know that is not a word) and I want this blog to be fun, not only for you but for me as well.

I don’t watch too much television, mostly because I am realist and most shows baffle my mind on the situations characters get themselves in. However, every once in a while I do stumble across shows that capture my attention and forces me to invest my precious time. It even less likely for me to invest in loving a relationship between two fictional characters, but guess what? These relationships made me do it and I loved watching every step of their relationship.

Oh and in case you didn’t know, *spoilers ahead*

Dwight and Angela – The Office

Oh were you expecting Jim and Pam? Yeah, no. I did like their relationship, but you always knew they were going to be together. There was no surprise, even when she was with Roy you knew it was coming. Dwight and Angela though, they were entertaining. They seemed to always love each other even when they were apart and their strict attitudes and opinions just complimented each other. I am so glad that they finally got together in the last season and their wedding was one of the highlights of the last season.

J.D and Elliot – Scrubs

I absolutely love Scrubs. It had everything I needed, Comedy, Drama and a T.V. Couple I absolutely adored (No I am not talking about Turk and J.D. That is another list for another day). Elliot is a underestimated character and one of my favorites, her neurosis made me related to her in a way I never had with a character before. When they first got together I knew it was not going to work out, characters needed to grow and mature and that is exactly what they did. By the time they really truly got together towards the end of the show, I knew they were the one for each other. I loved them so much that when the season finale aired I almost cried, and I never done that before.

Willow and Oz – Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Love this little geeky couple to death, so much so that when Oz got wolfy with that girl whose name is completely forgettable I was crushed. How dare he break my poor Williow’s heart, but their quirky love made me believe that I could have a relationship that was simple and sweet. Then he left the show, and I was even more crushed because no matter how much I wished he would come back so they could be together again, I knew he wouldn’t. I got over it though because…

Willow and Tara – Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This couple is why I was able to get over Willow and Tara. Their loving and giving relationship helped get over my initial Oz heatbreak, up until of course Tara was killed off in the most horrible and stupidest way. You thought I was crushed about Oz? well at least he is still alive… My heart went out to Williow and I thought it was pretty understandable when she went to the darkside. Honestly when they introduced Kennedy as a love interest I rebelled and hated it. There is only one girl for Willow and that is Tara.

April and Andy – Parks and Rec

I almost went with Ben and Leslie, because Leslie is my fictional television BFF and Ben is Fictional Husband, but ultimately April and Andy won out. Why? because they compliment each other so well and they remind me of My husband and I. April is always supportive of Andy no matter what he does (as long as he doesn’t get hurt) and Andy’s kindness is a great balance to the rage that April can bring. They mesh so well together and stayed together for so long, still completely head over heels in love with each other that I enjoyed watching as their love matured.

Dan and Blair – Gossip Girl

I’ve never abhorred a show more than I did with Gossip Girl. Why I started watching in the first place is a mystery, why I continued watching it even after they went off the deep end with some of the story arcs? Well I think it is because I was temporarily insane, or it could be because I was waiting for these two to get together. Was I the only one who thought they would have been great together since their first on screen meeting? I hope not. When they finally did get together my heart was happy, of course it didn’t last long because the writers of this show do not understand that happy, non abusive relationships are better than toxic ones. Think of the message you are sending to young girls! I should stop before I ranting…

Monica and Chandler – Friends

This is couple I based my future relationships on. Why because they are perfect. I was never happy with the Ross and Rachel will they, won’t they plots and while yes I am happy that Rachel got off the plane. I am even happier that Monica and Chandler decided to stay on London Time. Their foundations were so solid and stable and just plain wonderful. Yes, they had their ups and downs, with not being able to have children and what not but it was okay because they knew they could get through it together. #relationshipgoals

Don’t agree with my list? Have some favorite couples that you love? Let me know!

Talking Heads – Psycho Killer

ARIZONA, Kiiara – Cross my Mind Part 2
MGMT – Electric Feel

The Chainsmokers – BloodStream

BROCKHAMPTON – MILK
Kygo, Parson James – Stole The Show

Hoodie Allen – Something Dangerous

These are my current favorites, What’s yours?

Beauty: PureLips – Vegan Tinted Moisturizer

So I wanted to try some new indie brands, while I do love the high name brands out there, I like discovering new things. I stumbled across PureLips on Etsy, an all natural vegan brand. They have loads of different beauty products including sea salt spray for your hair, moisturizers, eye shadows and face oils. I, however, went with the tinted moisturizer in light/medium. I wanted some light coverage for upcoming summer months and I knew that a tinted moisturizer would be right up my alley.

While the lotion was slightly thinner than I would have liked, but the coverage was pretty great. It blended really well too, considering that I just used my hands. The coloring is lighter than I thought light/medium should be but it’s not bad and you can’t really tell it’s too light when applied. I can’t feel it on my face after applied so it is perfect for summer.

Beauty: Batiste Dry Shampoo – Beautiful Brunette

I’ve heard great things about Batiste Dry Shampoo that when I needed to buy more after I ran out, I immediately knew I wanted to try this. When I saw they had a special shampoo just for brunettes like me I almost jumped for joy. Yay, to my hair no longer looking like I accidentally dumped baby powder in it. Well, that happiness did not last after the first use. The spray is brown and it does blend into my hair, but the finger I used to spray the shampoo with turned brown as well. The formula for this is also hard to brush into my hair, it made my hair look dull and feel nasty.

I was so disappointed, running my hairs through my hair I would get what looks like dirt all over my hands and my hair felt so stiff and powdery. I think maybe I should not have gotten the brunette spray. I will give this another try, perhaps just the original one, as I don’t want to completely write this brand off.

Have you tried Batiste Dry Shampoo?

May Rants and Raves!

May was a weird month for us here in Boise weather wise. High Temp days, mixed with cold mornings, not to mention the random thunderstorms and crazy rain, it was weird. Besides having the occasional fashion dilemma because of the ever-changing spring weather, nothing much happened. You all know that I am trying to find myself, and It was the beginning of May that I discovered how I wanted to be so I guess that was a big thing. Anyway here are my rants and raves for May. Also, warning there may be a lot of food in this month’s picks…

The Weather – Rant, and Rave:

Like I said earlier the weather has been nuts. The picture above was taken right after a crazy thunderstorm that took out our internet. While some days it’s bright warm and perfect for BBQing, The next it’s raining and I can’t chill and watch Netflix because the stupid internet is out. Just make up your stupid mind!

Wendy’s Mediterranean Salad and Lemonade – Rave:

These are so good, I’m not usually the type to order a salad at a fast food place, but since I am trying to make a more healthy decision when picking my food I tried one. I think I have been missing out. This salad has such a unique taste, is really good and is surprisingly fresh. The lemonade (my favorite drink choice) is fresh as well. Not too sweet and just the right amount of tart. Yum!

McDonald’s Carmel Macchiato Iced – Rant

First of all, I wanted a hot Carmel Macchiato. They gave me the wrong one, and while I would usually let them know I was in a hurry so I just took it and left. That was a big mistake. This drink was disgusting. It was too sweet, I couldn’t taste any coffee just whatever creamer they used, and it was so bland. Yuck! Now I know never to order one of these. Ever.

Work – Rant

So I am not going to go too in-depth on why I want to rant about my work, but I have just been so unhappy. I really need to go out and find a job that love doing, can’t spend my time wasting away.

Blogging – Rave

I think I finally got into a groove on my blog that does not stress me out, and I am happy about it. I love blogging, but my personal life can sometimes get so extreme that I have to leave it on the side, untouched. Well I don’t want to do that anymore and I vow to keep this going because a) It makes me happy, b) gives me a chance to engage in the community, c) It’s just fun!

Fashion: Guilty Pleasures – Statement Tshirts

There are some days that dresses, slacks, or heels don’t fit into your fashion choice. Sometimes you gotta just put on a pair of tennis, jeans and rock a t-shirt. Of course no one said you cant dress it up a bit with some accessories! More often than not though when I got for this look I usually end up picking a t-shirt that has a witty saying, music lyrics or something a bit sarcastic. Looking through my closet I noticed I seem to have a abundance of these t-shirts, when this started I honestly have no idea. However, I really love buying them and I doubt I will stop anytime soon. I especially love the ones that have to do with music.

What is your Guilty Pleasure Fashion?

Let’s Make Friends Update #1

So I wanted to make sure I keep you up to date on what’s happening in my quest for making friends. I want to bring you all along for every step of the way.

First things first, I dumped FriendMatch. While they had a lot of people to choose from they didn’t have very many in my area. In fact there was only 3 and they weren’t really in the area of Idaho that I was in. So while that could have turned me off the the whole experience in general It actually spurred me to find another site and I did.

Hey! Vina

Hey! Vina is a mobile app that is pretty easy to use an reminds reminds me of tinder in the sense that you swipe if you want to skip. They also have quizzes you can take that determine your friendship personality. It’s been pretty fun so far. There are a couple of things I don’t like. First if someone sends you a “hey!” you can’t see who it is unless you send them “hey!” as well, so if someone likes your profile you don’t know unless you like them back. Another thing is that if you do match with someone they immediately encourage you to meet in person. I don’t know about you all but I want to get to know someone before meeting them.

GirlFriend Social

I’ve actually have had some success on this site. There’s two potential friends that I am talking to now. The first I will call DB. DB is having a bit of a tough time right now, and laid everything out in our first message to each other. It is somewhat refreshing so I don’t get any surprise drama, I decided to stick around in case she needs a sympathetic ear. The second one I will call HF, we have some stuff in common and although she is a bit older than me and a bit spiritual I hope it works out. HF actually gave me her phone number so I am going to try texting her today (not call, because who does that!).

Girlfriend Circles

Is still a little weird for me to use but the users are all very responsive. Hopefully I can find some people in my area. I find the site a bit tough to navigate through but I hope I will get used to it. Besides people responding to my posts I have not really gotten to know anyone personally. Hopefully this changes or it is cut from the list.

Beauty: Maybelline – The COLOSSAL Volum’ Express Mascara

You all know I am on a never-ending search for the worlds best mascara. Mascara is my product, when I need something quick to brighten my face up or to give myself a pick me up, I will just swipe on some mascara and go. I was kinda excited to get this as a sample on a order I recently purchased. Honestly, It has been a while since I have used a Maybelline product, not because they are a bad company or anything. It’s really just because there are so many brands out there now and I just want to try different ones. Plus, their products just don’t appeal to me like some others that do.

Now, this mascara promises to “achieve colossal lashes with just one coat“, While one coat did not achieve the volume I wanted it does not mean that this mascara is bad. The volume is pretty great, in fact it was better than I thought it would be. I am not sure if it was because I have been lowering my expectations and I am easily impressed now, or if this did give me great volume. Either way I like the mascara. Another thing I can mention is that It has very minimal fallout and the end of the day did not leave me looking like a raccoon. The price isn’t so bad either so that is another plus.

GreenHarmony Pear Mask Pack

So I’m trying to take care of my skin since I have neglected it for a couple of months. I found this little gem in one of my many beauty boxes so I took it out and decided to use it.

Green Harmony claims this helps improve skin tone, add moisture and balances your skin. You love the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes then rinse off in lukewarm water. The mask was creamier than I expected and the little pack had a ton of product in it that I wished I had a little tub to store what I didn’t use. It easily spread over my skin so it was easy to use. There was no smell really, like I thought there would be considering it contains pears. This also never really dried so I had to be super careful not to let anything touch my face while I was wearing it.

After washing the product off easily I did notice that my face felt refreshed and smooth. The effect lasted for about a day, so this seems like a quick fix product that should be done multiple times a week rather than something that lasts the whole week. Not a holy grail products but it still was nice to use.

Giving online Friendship sites another try

So I decided to try again! Last time it didn’t really work as well as I wanted. I think it was partly my fault, I don’t think I applied myself as much as I wanted considering that I thought there would be a stigma involved with having to find a friend online. This time, well to be perfectly honest I could careless what people think, in the world where online dating has become the norm, why shouldn’t I use the internet to find friends?

I moved to a new area where the only person I know is my husband and it is so hard to make friends. I picked 3 sites to help me accomplish this;

Girlfriend Circles

This site is like a dumbed down twitter where you post and people can respond and hopefully you establish a connection. It’s a little weird as you need to really work and reach out. I thought this would have been good as a mobile app, but I couldn’t find one. I am not always on to be able to check but hopefully I can put myself out there.

Girlfriend Social

I am much more familar with this site since it is one I have used in the past. It works more like a dating site, where you can get matched with another women in your area and message each other if you feel you would be friends. I like this format better than GirlFriend Circles but we can see which actually helps me make friends.

FriendMatch

This one unlike the other 2 is not just limited to women, but for males too. While I am open to making friends of any gender I think I am more comfortable with meeting (right now) meeting someone of the same gender as me. This has more of a search function so you can pick the gender, age and location of the friends you want to meet. Unfortunately there were not a lot of people in my area, but we will see

So those are the sites I’m trying right now, but I will continue to try new sites and perhaps even try to start conversation outside in the real world. I’m just looking for open minded individuals who love eating and reading. I also want someone around my age 25-35. Hopefully this goes well!

Wish me Luck?
