I’ve been trying to thrift more clothing lately. Not only to save money, but one of my cousins who has always worked in high fashion has recently begun to be an advocate of thrifting. Apparently, fashion is the 3rd biggest pollution industry in the world! Anyway, I’ve decided to try Thredup They recently had a 40% off deal that I just couldn’t pass up. First of I gotta say it was incredibly easy purchasing the clothing, plus I actually trust the site to have quality control and make sure everything was of good quality. I always get nervous buying clothes online and I think buying used/thrift clothing is even worse.
The brown Maurice jacket is really comfortable, not as warm as I was hoping it would be. I love the zip up and the giant buttons. I have a thing for giant buttons! Since we moved here to Idaho winters are colder so I’ve been looking for warm jackets that don’t drain my bank account.
I really love the star burgundy Zara cardigan is really warm, almost warmer than the jacket. It is also the most comfortable cardigan EVER! Okay, that may be an overdramatization since I have not worn every cardigan, but it’s close. It is a bit chunky but I love it. There are also 2 small pockets on the front for carrying small things if needed.
The Gloria Vanderbilt Kakis are exactly what they are. There seems to be some slight fading but it’s not so bad. there is zipper at the knee so you can make them shorts on warmer days.
The pink and black Annabelle dress is gorgeous, I bought it especially for my company Christmas party. It’s slightly thinner than I thought it would be and I hope it is not see through. If it is, a slip should suffice!
What do you think of my haul? Have you ever tried ThredUp?
So now that I have a full time job, I can finally buy some new clothes (on sale of course!). Romwe is a inexpensive clothing site that offers deals daily.
* Bird Mesh Top / Pink $5.60
I love the way this top looks, the only problem is that the fabric has zero give. It’s not really tight, but it’s not loose either which makes me wish I ordered a size larger than I wear. Either way the bird details are pigmented and I love wearing this with some blue jeans and pink flats.
* Black Coffee Cup Long Sleeve Top / Black $6.99
Yes, I am a coffee addict, so of course I need the shirt to go with it.
* Petal Sleeve Chiffon Top / Olive $8.40
I purchase this chiffon top because I actually have a skirt that this would perfectly match too. Plus I love the sleeves, they are a cute and stylish.
* Dragonfly Embellished Flats / Blue $27.60
As you can see my flats were the most expensive thing I purchased, they were also the reason I ordered from Romwe. While slightly narrower than I like, they are not too bad. I love the dragonfly embellishment.
What do you think of my haul?
I’ve been pretty into flats lately, plus with my new job I really wanted shoes that I not only would be comfortable in but also I feel is stylish. Now that I am older I sometimes prioritize comfort over fashion however I feel like flats are stylish. I still love heels don’t get my wrong but wearing them 8 hours a day is killer. I’ll start trying to look for comfortable heels (oxymoron).
My favorite are the yellow flats, I love wearing yellow, it’s one of those colors that I feel goes really well with me. I will say the most comfortable (besides the Polo shoes) are the black H&M flats. Hopefully I’ll be able to post some OOTD posts so you can see how I style them.
So I’m pretty crazy for stationary and if you saw my recent typo haul you know I try to go all out. One of the things I purchased was the erasable highlighter. I’ve never seen these before so I had to get me some and so far they work great! I tend to sometimes go a litttle highlighter crazy and when looking at my notes it sore of hard to distinguish what is important and what is not. These can erase what isn’t important and I can get back on track. A plus side is there’s no smell either, they are non-toxic and with names like ‘Tickled Pink’ and ‘Blazing Yellow’ you know you gotta have it.
