I felt this was the perfect color for this week. Taupe is severely underrated in the manicure department so I wanted to represent. I really like this polish that I got on sale (because that is how I get most of my beauty products nowadays) I am in dire need to going for a real manicure to get a handle on these cuticles but I have yet to find a reasonably priced place. I guess I got a little spoiled with my $12 manicures at my old place.
I am keeping my eyes open. This polish needs two coats to really shine, but it works amazingly. It has yet to chip which is important. The brush is wide which works better for me as I don’t mess up as much (I really suck at putting on polish) and I can get the corners of my nails better. Plus Cruelty free!!!!
So I know a lot of people are wary of buying make up from dollar stores but if the product has been unopened and you trust the brand I don’t see why not.
Let’s see what I bought!
- L.A. Colors:
eye shadowpalette Nude eye shadowpalette
- Lip Oil in Strawberry
- Color correcting smoothing face primer
- Glow Now skin illuminator
- 3 Color Craze Nail polishes in Cyber Grape, Mint, and Live
- Wet N Wild
- The smokey liner brush
- Angled Liner Brush
As you can see most of my purchases are from L.A. Colors but I was able to add to my Wet N’ Wild Brush collection. I cannot wait to have them all!
The other day I went to the dollar store and found some great beauty finds! L.A Color is a brand I’ve always liked and it is affordable too!
I got three of their Color Craze polishes. This one is a metallic purple called Cyber Grape. I noticed quite quickly that it’s very thin so you need to apply a couple of coats to get it opaque. You will also need a top and bottom coat, I forgot to apply a top coat and it chipped pretty quickly.
For 99 cents though it was a good buy.
This morning I awoke to snow, and while it technically isn’t winter yet (not until the 21st) it seemed a bit magical. The snow didn’t stick around since it isn’t really cold enough yet, so everything is just wet and cold but I still don’t mind. I needed that little bit of magic because the holidays really make you miss family. It doesn’t help that I recently had to miss my cousin’s wedding, who I am close with. Seeing all the pictures of her wedding posted on Social Media actually made this feeling of sadness worse.
Communication of my emotions is key to not letting me go down this depressive hole. I’ve talked to my husband about it, and expressed my feelings. He understands and is completely supportive, which is nice. I’m also trying to keep busy so I won’t dwell on it so much. So, I am doing a little decorative planning to keep my mind at bay.
The house still needs work, plus I have some ideas for a vanity corner for my beauty products. I’m also planning on having a sort of “formal” living room or maybe making a little library. Who knows!
It’s been a while since I showcased some earrings ( or any Jewelry at all) which is sad because I love jewelry. I love wearing fun, bring jewelry and accessories because it tends to brighten my mood.
I really need to brighten my mood because lately it has been so cold and gloomy outside, and not we are getting a huge storm coming in the next couple days with a possibility of snow, so bright colored, fun, and flirty accessories are really want I need right now!
I hate the thought of dead skin on my body, also spending all morning in a morgue surrounded by fluids, and other things I don’t want to mention I need a good body scrub. Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hand and Body Scrub seems like the best thing right now.
SheaMoisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus Hand & Body Scrub is a hydrating body care solution formulated with natural ingredients designed to nourish and repair your skin. Coconut Oil used in the formulation of this gluten free body scrub is rich in Vitamin E which quells dryness by creating moisture barriers and helping replenish lost oils. Hibiscus flowers act as emollients to soothe dry, irritated skin while Songyi Mushrooms even your skin tone. As you can see I’ve been using this for a while, and I absolutely love it. The smell is heavenly, and while it feels a little harsh the first time I used it, it leaves my skin feeling incredible. My skin is so soft and doesn’t feel tight or harsh, in fact it felt a bit moisturized.
The scrub lasted me quite a while, and I loved using it. I think it’s the perfect scrub for the season, and it’s affordable.
I purchased this Tarte Rainforest of the Sea deep dive cleansing gel from Sephora a while back. I’ve always wanted to try it but didn’t want to shell out all that money on the full size and worry that I didn’t like it.
Lavender-oil infused lather feels like a day at the spa & won’t leave your skin feeling tight or dry.– Taken from Tartecosmetics.com
It is hypo-allergenic and vegan so that makes me even more excited, especially since my skin seems to be ultra-sensitive to products as of late. It can also be used to remove waterproof makeup if so desired.
While I do like the fragrance-free smell and the fact that my skin didn’t feel like it was just stripped of every single oil of my face, it was just okay. It is a very soft cleanser which I love, and it seemed perfect for my sensitive skin but in order for me to really say what it does for my skin would require prolonged use.
My skin is pretty soft, but I exfoliate twice a week and it was never something that I had a problem with.
I will have to keep debating if I want to purchase the large size and really see if it makes a difference.
I don’t know about you all, but it has been a long week. I felt like I was running around with my head cut off trying to finish errands, Cooking on Thanksgiving, and to anyone who went Black Friday shopping, I need a day to relax. While Sunday’s are usually the day that people use for relaxation, for me I spend it getting ready for the week ahead, this includes cleaning, laundry, and meal prep. This does not help me relax, Sunday nights I do facemasks or try out different skincare.
Saturdays are for relaxing for me. I am 31 years old so clubbing and bar hopping happen like once in a blue moon now. My relaxation comes in the morning with a cup of coffee or tea, especially in this cold weather. I then have a piece of Home made sourdough bread, sometimes I top this with brie or butter and jelly.
I read a book while eating and drinking, I am currently reading two books one is Then She was Gone by Lisa Jewell, the second is Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan, The latter book I discuss with my husband Saturdays as well.
I keep can
I spend some time with the animals too, either throwing the ball for the dogs or cuddling with the cats, I make sure to spend some time with each of them. Love it when I can get Mordechai to purr since he does it so infrequently.
I spend sometime taking pictures so the blog and doing crafts for my planner or around the house. I like to feel like I accomplish stuff.
I do Yoga when I’m done to stretch out my body and my mind, then I take a relaxing bath with some epsom salt or a bath bomb/oil if I have one on hand.
The night is spend cuddling with the hubby, we sometimes rent movies and pig out with chocolate strawberries or just binge something on Hulu and Netflix. We are almost done with Brooklyn 99.
This does wonders for my mental health, as it centers me and reminds me why I spend all that time during the week doing hectic things.
Always make sure to set aside some mental health time, being stress out affects your body in negative ways.
Before I start I am in no way affiliated with POP fit, but they are having their Black Friday sale just use Code POPFriday for a buy 1 get 2 free.
Now I recently purchased a pair of their pants because A) they said they are #squatapproved, B) They were having a sale and I could afford it, and C) they have pockets (on certain styles).
I purchased the Lily because pockets and I loved the little detail on the calf. I purchased a medium and it fit perfectly and contoured to my body like a glove. This is great because I have a curvy body and I find it hard to get workout pants that don’t bunch, or feel uncomfortable. These were so comfortable. The second thing I noticed is that yes, I can bend over in them and not have everyone know what the pattern on my underwear is, so YAY!
The other pants I got were the Ava with pockets. They too fit amazingly, and I actually really liked the little cutouts, at first I was hesitant because I didn’t want my legs to look like little rolls that were trying to come through the cutouts. I didn’t have to worry though because they looked great. I will say that sadly these are not squat proof as my husband was able to tell the color of the panties I was wearing when I bent over, he did admit though that you have to be staring pretty hard to tell.
Overall I really like these workout pants and will be taking advantage of their Black Friday deals!
